After a long period in beta/RC stage, Adobe Flash 10.1 has finally been released. It is now available here for OS X, Windows, and 32bit Linux.

Highlights of the new release include hardware accelerated video decoding on supported platforms (Windows XP/Vista/7), many general performance enhancements and improvements in power saving for mobile devices. In addition, for those porn fiends people buying gifts for their loved ones, Flash now obeys private browser settings and won't leave suspicious videos around in cache directories.

On a more personal note; with initial testing I have performed so far, even the Linux version which does not have hardware accelerated decoding is performing quite a lot faster than 10 did.

More detail on the release is available here.
